Delete Account
Project Alexandria (by André Meurer) lets you request deletion of your account and the data associated with it.
How to request deletion
Choose one of the options below:
- In the app (recommended)
Go to Settings → Delete account and confirm.
- Outside the app (this page)
Email hi@project-alexandria.com from the email address you use to sign in with the subject line: “Delete my Project Alexandria account”. We may reply to confirm ownership before completing deletion.
Account deletion is irreversible; your data will be gone forever.
What will be deleted
When your deletion request is completed, we delete:
- Your Project Alexandria account (your user record and method of authentication)
- Your library (books you added/imported, editions/copy matches)
- Your categories and reading statuses (Want to Read / Reading / Finished)
- Your reading logs (pages/minutes + timestamps)
- Your ratings
- Your notes (if you use notes)
- Any stats derived from the above (since they’re computed from your data)
What may be retained (limited)
Some data may be retained for a limited time in our service providers’ systems:
- Analytics events and crash/error logs may persist for a period because they are stored separately from your library data. Where feasible, we delete or de-identify related records, but aggregated/anonymous metrics may remain.
- Backups: residual copies may remain in encrypted backups for a short period.
Retention period
We aim to complete deletion within 30 days of a verified request. Backup retention is typically within that window, but may take slightly longer in some cases.
